TERMS OF SERVICE

INSURANCE: Free insurance of 60 cents per pound per article is automatically included in all moves. Additional insurance can be purchased at $100 per $10,000 of declared value with a $1,000.00 deductible.

 

Only items that are listed in your inventory during your move are eligible for insurance or damage claims. Items not supplied by clients in inventory prior to service are ineligible for any loss or damage claims. Items packed by the client (Boxes, furniture, etc), Ikea furniture, Pieces made of particle board, Planters, flower pots, plants and items previously damaged prior to your service are also ineligible for any type of insurance or damage claims. Any items moved by the client themselves during any services rendered are also not eligible for any loss, damage or insurance claims.

Important Info About Inventory & Access: We run a very tight ship at The Better Movers which is just one of the reasons we have such a great reputation! We carefully plan and prepare for each of our clients needs based on the individual move requirements associated with each job. Your relocation has been specifically scheduled & organized based on the info you provided to our office at the time of your reservation. It is VERY important the listed inventory you provide is accurate.

 

Your current inventory on file with us for your services is as follows:

We want to make sure your service runs as smooth as possible! If there has been excessive changes made to your inventory with which we are not aware or given advance notice, or additional unplanned packing, unaccounted flights of stairs, extremely long walks, or steep drive ways that limit our access with the truck, or any other changes to your service we are not notified of in advance, your service is subject to a 20% surcharge, and we reserve the right to reschedule part, or all of your move to our next available service date. We do this to ensure other clients scheduled for the same day are not delayed and inconvenienced and any additional services requested or needed can be properly prepared and accounted for. With this in mind, if any of the information provided to our office at the time of your reservation was not accurate or you feel we should be made aware of any of the special circumstances listed above, please call or email our office immediately with additional details.

 

Although extreme caution is carefully exercised when moving anything, The Better Movers does not take responsibility for boxes previously packed as we can not verify the condition of their contents prior to packing, or if it was packed correctly and are uninsurable and exempt from any damage or loss claims. 

 

Please note, unsealed or interlocking flapped boxes are an unsafe way of packing and transporting boxes. Please make sure your boxes are closed, labeled and taped flat before move day so we can safely pack them on the truck.

 

The Better Movers makes every attempt to complete your move regardless of weather conditions, however, please understand if we deem the move to be unsafe for our crew and your belongings due to extreme weather conditions, then we reserve the right to reschedule your move to the next available service date.

 

In some instances parking our service truck can become difficult in narrow or busy residential areas. Parking permits are available from your local city hall or municipality which issue parking permits and allow us to load/unload the truck more efficiently and avoid parking tickets. If we are cited for a parking violation due to being in a permit only parking area or are unable to legally park safely near your location the cost of the citation will be added to your final invoice for services rendered. We advise all clients to insure ample parking is available on your service date.

 

If there is construction in your immediate area or at your current/new residence, debris can often get blown throughout the house, as well as fine particles and sediment from cutting wood, or granite etc... The particles/debris can cause damage to your floors as we move throughout the house. Please note we do not accept damage or loss claims should such damage occur as a result of this debris. To insure safety, please make sure your floors are clean (we recommend vacuuming to make sure all fine particles have been cleared) and construction is not taking place on the day of the move.

 

OVERTIME

Time and a half will be charged after 8 hours on any single job, and double time will be charged after 12 hours.

All services provided after 5pm, regardless of previous consecutive labor hours, will be charged time and a half for up to 4 labor hours, and then double time for all additional labor hours.

 

METHODS OF PAYMENT: Payment is due upon completion of your move. The Better Movers accepts cash, money orders or credit/debit cards. You are welcome, but not obliged to pay tips to the team. 

 

CANCELLATION POLICY: The Better Movers has a cancellation policy. If your move is cancelled you may be billed for the hourly minimum that applied to your job at the time of your reservation. Service dates can be rescheduled free of charge to any available service date as needed with advanced notice (We recommend at least 72hrs to properly accommodate any adjustments to service date as needed)

 

 

STORAGE - If you are scheduled to have your belongings stored with The Better movers, a separate contract will be provided on the day of the move with additional details.

*Please note – The Better Movers provides a full service storage facility. Access to your belongings must be scheduled in advance and will be accompanied by Better movers personnel. Fees may apply for any removal of items or loading/unloading performed.

 

PROMOTIONS AND DISCOUNTS: Any Promotional offers or discounts offered apply to Labor only and do not include any additional fees that may apply including Arrival/Departure, Materials, Hoists, or specialized services such as Pianos, vehicle transports or any other costs associated with any particular service not specified in any promotional offers.

Service payments not made upon completion of service are subject to a 10% late fee, collection fees, attorneys fees and any other costs incurred for any unpaid balance. Monthly interest of 2.5% also applies to all delinquent or unpaid balances.
